Project teams, owners and facilities groups preparing close-out information or a dependable base for future operations and alterations.

Scope questions

Questions to answer before we start.

01What makes an as-built model dependable?

Every information source, verification method, tolerance, inaccessible condition and approval route should be defined. Unverified conditions are identified rather than represented as surveyed fact.

02Can you populate asset data?

Yes, when the asset fields, classification, source records, responsible parties and validation rules are supplied or agreed.

03Is this a live operational digital twin?

A handover BIM can be a foundation for one, but a live digital twin normally requires ongoing systems, integrations and governance beyond a static model. We describe the actual deliverable precisely.

Work backward from use

Define what must be checked, received and maintained.

Tell us what the handover information will be used for, which records we can rely on, what must be checked, where the data will go and who will maintain it.
